Terms of Use

Last updated September 16, 2026

1. Who we are

This training and assessment portal (the “Portal”) is operated by Zitan Law (“we”, “us”), an Ontario law firm. By accessing or using the Portal you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Portal.

2. No legal advice, no lawyer-client relationship

The training modules, assessments, explanations and certificates on the Portal are provided for general educational and workplace-compliance purposes only. They are not legal advice and do not take into account your specific circumstances, jurisdiction, collective agreement or workplace policies. Use of the Portal does not create a lawyer-client relationship with Zitan Law. For advice on a particular matter, retain a lawyer licensed in your jurisdiction.

3. Access codes and eligibility

Some trainings are made available only to a specific client organization through a company name, an access code and a validity period. Access codes are licensed to that organization and its authorized personnel. You may not share, publish or resell an access code. Access ends on the stated “valid until” date or earlier if Zitan Law or the client organization withdraws it. You must be at least 16 years old, or of employment age in your jurisdiction, to use the Portal.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • complete an assessment on behalf of another person, or allow another person to complete yours;
  • record, download, screen-capture, reproduce or redistribute any training video, question, answer key or certificate;
  • attempt to bypass access controls, scrape the Portal, or probe it for vulnerabilities;
  • submit false identity, employer or employee information; or
  • use the Portal in a way that breaks any applicable law.

5. Certificates

A certificate confirms only that the named participant achieved the stated score on the stated assessment on the stated date. It is not a licence, accreditation or certification by any government body, and it does not by itself establish that an employer has met its legal training obligations. Zitan Law may revoke a certificate obtained through inaccurate information or a breach of these Terms.

6. Intellectual property

All content on the Portal — including videos, narration, slides, questions, answer keys, text, branding and certificate designs — is owned by Zitan Law Professional Corporation and protected by Canadian and United States copyright and trade-mark law. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to view the content for your own training. All other rights are reserved.

7. Availability and changes

The Portal is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change, suspend or retire any training, assessment or feature, and may update these Terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zitan Law is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Portal. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Portal is limited to the amount paid for the training giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction. Where you use the Portal from the United States, you consent to that governing law and forum to the extent permitted by the law of your state; nothing in these Terms removes consumer or employee rights that cannot be waived under applicable Canadian or U.S. law.
